Quickstart — Your Own AI Assistant in 3 Minutes

One command and you have AI running on your own machine. No cloud, no subscription, no data sent to anyone. Like ChatGPT, but private and free.

Local AI on your computer, in 3 minutes

What you need

Docker — a free program that installs everything for you (download here)
4 GB RAM — what most computers have
5 GB disk — less than a Netflix movie

Don’t have Docker? On Mac install Docker Desktop; on Linux follow the guide for your system.

Step 1 — Download

Open a terminal and run:

git clone https://git.d0a1.es/d0a1/packs.git
cd packs

On Windows, open PowerShell and run the same commands. Every pack ships a deploy.ps1 (PowerShell) alongside deploy.sh (Linux/Mac).

This downloads all 4 available packs. You only need one to start.

Step 2 — Pick a pack and start

Open WebUI — Chat with AI in your browser:

cd openwebui
./deploy.sh local      # Linux / Mac
.\deploy.ps1 local   # Windows (PowerShell)

Open http://localhost:3000 and start chatting. No signup, no API key.

Other packs available:

WordPress + AI — cd wordpress && ./deploy.sh local (Windows: .\deploy.ps1 local) ? http://localhost:8080
Hermes Agent — cd hermes && ./deploy.sh local (Windows: .\deploy.ps1 local)
OpenClaw — cd openclaw && ./deploy.sh local (Windows: .\deploy.ps1 local)

Step 3 — Stop when done

./deploy.sh stop       # Linux / Mac
.\deploy.ps1 stop    # Windows

Which model should I use?

The pack comes with several AI models. Best for beginners:

To switch models, click the dropdown at the top of the chat.

FAQ

Is it really free?

Yes. The models run on your computer. No per-message cost, no subscription, no limit. Your only cost is electricity.

Can it read my files?

Only if you want it to. You can upload a document to the chat for the AI to analyze, but nothing leaves your computer. Close the chat and the files are gone.

What if I want more?

When you’re ready to have AI 24/7 on your own server:
